In plain words: what the game keeps, where it stays, and what goes over the internet.
Updated October 29, 2026
What the game keeps
- Each child’s first name or nickname, grade, chosen budgie, color and picture.
- A scrambled (hashed) copy of each PIN, never the PIN itself.
- Progress: levels, stars, seeds, nest items, answers, practice time and badges.
- Settings such as language, sound and music.
Where it stays
Everything above is saved in the web browser on the device you play on. It is not sent to us, and there is no Kairos account or online database. A backup file you download from the Parents area is yours: it goes only where you put it.
To erase a child’s progress, delete the student in the Parents area. Clearing this website’s data in your browser erases everything the game saved on that device.
What goes over the internet
- The website and game files themselves, from www.kairoszone.com. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which receives the standard technical details every website host receives, such as your IP address, in order to deliver the pages.
- The weather budgie on the game’s start page asks Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) for the current weather. Normally it asks about one fixed place in New York. Only if someone chooses to use the device’s location in the game’s Settings does it send the device’s approximate location, rounded to about a kilometer. The weather budgie can also be turned off in Settings.
- This website (the home page and this page) counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and shows us totals, such as how many visits a page had and from which country, not who visited.
The game itself has no ads, no accounts and no tracking or analytics code.
The iPhone and iPad app
The Kairos: Math Adventures app on the App Store is the same game and keeps the same things listed above, saved only inside the app on that device. It has no ads, no accounts and no tracking or analytics code.
- In the app the weather budgie is off unless a grown-up turns it on, and it only asks about one fixed place in New York, never the device’s location.
- Every link, email, share or backup that leaves the app first asks a grown-up question.
- Deleting the app erases everything it saved on that device.
The app is free today. If we offer a small paid membership later, Apple will handle the payment in the app, and a payment company such as Stripe on the website. We never see or store card details. We will update this page before anything paid begins.
